As Lutherans, we believe that:
We should build our lives on faith in
Jesus Christ. We believe Jesus Christ is
the only, perfect, son of God---and eternal God Himself. We believe that
Jesus lived a life of perfect obedience to God's Law, and that he died for
us and for every person in the world. We also believe that Jesus rose from
the dead and lives for us---and for all people who believe in Him as their
Savior.
Happily, we live with the sure hope of
eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. Although we know we're not
perfect and that we may stumble and fall in our daily walk with God, we also
know that our forgiveness has been won and paid for by Jesus Christ and that
when we repent and seek forgiveness, God will forgive us because of the
sacrifice Jesus made.
As Lutherans, we hold beliefs shared by many
Christians:
God is three Persons in one:
- the
Father, who created and sustains
the world...
- the
Son,
who became and lived as a man, died, rose from death and returned to
heaven...
- the
Holy
Spirit, who brings people to faith
in Jesus Christ and imparts to them the blessings of God's love!!!
The Bible is the inspired Word of God:
- From it we learn about Him...
- About the way He works in the world
and in us...
- And about His will for our lives.
Our human nature leads us away from God:
- It tries to make our loving and caring
Creator seem like a stranger or as if He does not exist...
- By nature people tend to go their own
way through life, often far away from God...
- And even if we don't stray far, no
matter how hard we work or how much good we do, we can never "earn" our
way to Heaven.
Our salvation is through Jesus Christ, who taught
us:
For it is by grace you have been saved,
through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by
works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2: 8-9
The Good News of the Gospel
Jesus is God's eternal and divine Son. He
is born into human flesh. At the same time He is completely human and
completely divine. He has come to bring people back to their loving Heavenly
Father. Jesus taught the way for people to return to a life with God. Then
he suffered and died on the cross to become our way back.
He has risen from the dead, lives today
in the hearts of His people, and will return to earth to hold all people
accountable for the life they have lived, their thoughts, words, deeds and
motives.
Repentance is the first step back to God.
Turning away from rebellion, disobedience and apathy toward the Heavenly
Father, we turn to a new life through Jesus Christ.
Faith is the second step. That is to
believe Jesus truly is the Savior come to bring us into a close friendship
with the Heavenly Father.
Forgiveness of all past sin and salvation
from God's coming judgment comes to anyone who repents and believes Jesus
is Lord!
To everyone who believes and is
baptized God gives a special friend. The Holy Spirit stays with the believer
bringing abundant love, joy and peace with many other blessings and help for
this life.
In response to all our Creator, Savior
and Counselor has done for us, we strive to live holy lives, to worship and
serve our God by doing his work in the world today.
Come grow with us into this faith, into
the very family of God, His Church. Come grow with us so that together we
may share with others this sure hope of a new life in Jesus Christ.

The Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only
Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the
Father.
He will come again to judge the living and
the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
The Nicene Creed
ELLC Translation
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, light from light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the
Virgin Mary
and became truly human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius
Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the
Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the
living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord,
the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father [and the Son],
who with the Father and the Son is worshiped
and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and
apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the
forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
