Hope Prayer Ministry
Col. 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer,
being watchful and thankful.
We thank God for the many blessings He
has laid upon the Prayer Ministry here at Hope.
Prayer for the Month of September:
Holy Father, Lord of the nations, as we celebrate Labor Day this month, we give thanks to You for the work Your hands have provided us with. Help us to remember that whatever the work is that we do, we work to serve and honor You. We pray that our labor may increase the peace and prosperity of all people. Bless those whose work puts them in danger, keep them safe. Those who care for the sick and the elderly give them tender and caring hearts. May the Holy Spirit remind us that all honest work is blessed by the Lord. May we serve faithfully that Your purposes may be fulfilled. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen
Psalm 90:17 "May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us, yes, establish the work of our hands."
PRAISE
"The Act Of Divine Recognition"
PRAISE is one of the most powerful weapon available to the believer. Often we confuse praise with thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is when we give thanks to God for the blessings we receive. Praise is designed for expressing our praise to GOD for WHO HE IS, rather than for the things He does for us.
PRAISE blesses the Lord, it brings you into His presence and draws you closer to Him. Praise opens the door and clears the way for you to begin your prayers. When we give praise to God it will lay the groundwork for the victories the Holy Spirit desires. Praise also overcomes the devil, brings revival, gives us joy.
The key word for PRAISE is exultation. To recognize God for all that He is, awesome, almighty, blameless, comforting, divine, everlasting, faithful, righteous, redeemer, worthy, trustworthy and much more.
Jesus set the example for us on how to start our prayers when he taught the disciples the Lords Prayer. He began the prayer with praise. "Our Father who art in heaven hallow [Holy] be they name. Holy is our Lord.
Praise, what an appropriate way to begin our day. But don't stop there. Give God praise all day long. You find it won't be long until your "lips overflow with Praise." Psalm 119:171. There is none other that deserves the praise more. For God is our creator. We should honor Him with our praise.
If you are not sure how to praise God just go to the Book of Psalms. It is filled with words of praise to our God
prayers of praise . . .Psalms 145:1-4 "I will extol thee, my God, O King; and I will bless Thy name forever and ever. Every day I will bless Thee, and I will praise Thy name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise Thy works to another and shall declare Thy mighty acts."
When we enter the kingdom of God we will sing songs of praise forever with the choir of saints and heavenly angels. So why not get in the habit of praising Him now!

Prayer: Listen, God is speaking to you!!!
"Be joyful always; pray continually,
give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ
Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Why should we pray?
WHY? It is God's will for us.
WHY? Prayer brings us into partnership with
God. Through pray we develop a personal loving relationship with God.
WHY? God has chosen to respond to us
through prayer. When God's people pray, God responds out of Loving compassion.
WHY? Through prayer and the study of
scripture God discloses his divine will for us and for humankind.
May every day be a day of prayer for you.
Invite God into your life. Start each day by seeking God's will for you and
pray, "Come Holy Spirit abide with me today. Help me to live my life according
to your will." AMEN
Hope Lutheran:
A church that prays
or a church devoted to prayer?
In a powerful house of prayer, prayer will
be foundational to and saturate every aspect of its individual and corporate
life. Significant prayer will be the top priority at every gathering, whatever
its purpose. Prayer will be taught from the pulpit, in every Sunday school
class, and in all small groups. People will go to prayer first when they face
a problem, and every member of the congregation will be involved in prayer to
some degree.
A church that just prays:
Prays about what it does.
Fits prayer in.
Prays when there are problems.
Announces a special time of prayer and some in the church show up.
Asks God to bless what it is doing.
Is frustrated by financial shortfall and backs down from projects.
Is tired, weary and stressed out.
Does things only within its means.
Sees its members as its parish.
A church devoted to prayer:
Does things by prayer.
Gives prayer priority.
Prays when there are opportunities.
Announces a special time of prayer and everyone in the church shows up.
Asks God to enable it to do what He is blessing.
Is challenged by financial shortfall and calls for prayer and faith.
Runs and doesn’t grow weary.
Does things beyond its means.
Sees the whole world as its parish.
Is involved in the work of God.
