Fellowship groups make it possible to renew
your faith and connect with new friends. Their gatherings include
fellowship, service, Bible study, prayer and fun.
Being part of a group at Hope is a
great gift to group members. The fun, laughter, learning and caring
strengthens each of us, our families and our faith. I hope you will share
with us in this exciting adventure by joining one of our active groups.
A Few of our Groups...
(check the calendar and bulletin board information in the Newsletters link
for dates and times)
Seniors with Hope - Seniors with
Hope is a group of retirees that meet each Thursday morning from January to Easter. They are an active group that has Bible study, a guest
speaker and then lunch on Thursdays. In addition to this, they have various
outings and activities throughout the season. It may be a day excursion, a
weekend outing or an overnight trip to an interesting destination. They are
also readily available for service around our church. If you want lots of
fun and are available on Thursday a.m. and early afternoon, drop in and
visit.
Ladies Bible Study
(WOW's - Women of the Word)-
Ladies Bible Study group meets weekly at the church to study God's word.
Hope Stitchers -
A busy group of ladies who create marvelous gifts for others such as afghans
for the Children's Hospital.
Men's Bible Breakfast
- On
Thursday mornings at 7:30 AM our Men's Bible Breakfast convenes at AmericInn,
on the west side of US 41, about one-half mile south of Bonita Beach Road.
What a great opportunity for men to study, have fellowship and share their
faith on a weekly basis! God has told us, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God
and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you." Come
see what God can do in your life as you draw closer to Him in His Word.
Youth Groups
-
Our goals include providing an opportunity for safe, Christian interaction
with peers. The Word is presented in a way that is meaningful and relevant
for today's youth.
Altar Guild - The Altar Guild is a
great service organization here at Hope Lutheran Church. These people meet
regularly for study and oversee the proper setup of all altar articles each
worship service, their storage, cleaning and ordering of supplies. They plan
for the purchase of additional items including altar paraments, sacred
linens, vestments, candles and holders, offering plates, robes for pastors,
elders and acolytes, supplies for communion and baptismal services. The
Guild also oversees the use of banners and flowers that they may complement
the altar, the symbol of the presence of God and focal point of our worship.
If this is something you would enjoy, please join us at our regularly
scheduled meetings.
Senior Choir - Senior choir, our
longest established music group here at Hope. The group sings anthems
weekly at the 8 AM Sunday service or at the 9:30 AM service
during the season. The group sings in parts and welcomes additional
vocalists with open arms. (Click to see Photos)
Praise Chorus - The Praise Chorus,
formed in spring 1997, functions as song leaders at the contemporary 11 AM
Sunday worship service. The group meets year-round. Musicians playing
instruments such as guitar, drums and electronic keyboard accompany the
chorus. (Click to see Photos)
Friday Morning Work and Fellowship
Group - Our Friday morning group meets each week at 9:30 AM in the
church kitchen. This valuable service group performs a variety of tasks
ranging from assembling the worship bulletins and monthly newsletter to
making sure there are pencils and offering envelopes in each chair ready for
Sunday services! In addition to the work that is accomplished, this group
has wonderful fellowship time and enjoys a light snack each week. Everyone
is welcome and we look forward to working with anyone interested in helping.

LWML
- Lutheran Women in
Mission - The LWML, with a
membership of over 250,000, is the official women's organization of The
Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. The LWML focuses on affirming each woman in
her relationship with Christ to enable her to be in ministry among the
people of the world. For 60 years the organization has been encouraging and
equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission
ministries and to financially support global missions. Hope's group
meets monthly in the Choir Room.
THE TOP 10 REASONS TO BE
PART OF A FELLOWSHIP GROUP
- To be an answer to prayer that more
people are gathered around God's Word.
- To really get to know a group of
people that you would otherwise just say "Hi" to.
- To learn your way around the church
community and visit other peoples' homes.
- To frustrate the devil.
- To realize that other Christians have
questions and struggles like you do.
- To laugh and enjoy the company of
others.
- Two words: good snacks
- To find out that you have something in
common with others you did not know.
- To give your couch a rest twice a
month while you go sit on someone else's
- And the number 1 reason for joining a
small group is:
TO MAKE GOD SMILE AND
THE ANGELS DANCE
THAT HIS PEOPLE ARE LIVING IN HIS GRACE AND PEACE
